I was just flicking through the programme for the UK Software & Systems Quality Conference ( to be held in London on the 29th of September, 2008 ) and noticed that Stuart Reid is delivering a presentation on the progress of the new ISO 29119 software testing standard.
I couldn’t remember when I last heard anything about ISO 29119 so decided to hit Google to get the latest gossip. Sadly, there isn’t really much to tell. The best I could find was a Chinese website containing a preview of what the new standard covers (which I’ve quoted below – but can’t vouch for it’s accuracy, so if anyone knows anything different, please let me know) and a forum discussion showing just how difficult it is to agree a new standard like this because of the thousands of different opinions held within the testing community.

I’ll post again if I find anything else interesting. In the meantime, I’ll be getting to Stuart’s presentation early for a front row seat
Update (28.08.2008): This presentation is a year old, but has some good info and graphics.
